The future for Coventry City Football Club has led to fiery exchanges in Parliament.

Local MPs were calling on the Government to intervene to end the deadlock on finding a permanent home for the Sky Blues.

Although the rental deal with the owners of the Ricoh Arena has been extended for a further year to May 2019, there is concern that for the thousands of fans there is still no certainly of a guaranteed Coventry base.

Sports Minister Tracey Crouch told the MPs she had sympathy for the fans and for the city, but that it was not her job to interfere in commercial dealings.
