Fifth victim of Leicester explosion formally identified

The fifth victim of the Leicester shop explosion has been formally identified as Mary Ragoobeer.

Mrs Ragoobeer died alongside her two sons, Sean and Shane, in the deadly blast last month.

The 46-year-old lived in the flat above the supermarket on Hinckley Road in Leicester.

The other victims of the blast are shop worker Viktorija Ijevleva and Leah Reek.

The inquests into the five people who lost their lives in the explosion will be opened at Leicester Coroners’ Court tomorrow.

A seventh person was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, three men appeared in court on Monday charged with the manslaughter.

Arkan Ali, 37, Hawkar Hassan, 32, and Aram Kurd, 33, also face a separate count of arson with intent to endanger life and are due back in court in April.

The other men have been released by police pending further investigations.
