Two men and a woman have been released under investigation after a black student recorded racist abuse being chanted outside her room at Nottingham Trent University.
A minute-long video of the incident, which police are now treating as a hate crime, was posted on Twitter.
In the clip, at least two men can be heard chanting "we hate the blacks" and making other racist comments.
The two 18-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offences and the 18-year-old woman was interviewed in connection with the incident.
They have all been released under investigation while police conduct further enquiries.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said:
Nottingham Trent University said it was shocked and appalled by the video, and is conducting a full investigation.
