Security review underway after Crufts pitch invasion

The organisers of the prestigious dogs show Crufts have announced an event review around security is underway, after a man appeared to run onto the arena as the winner was being announced on live television. The event was held at the NEC in Birmingham. Security guards were seen running down the intruder.

The video below of the commotion was taken by university student Ciara, who studies in Birmingham.

The male intruder was quickly wrestled to the ground. Eyewitnesses said he was carrying a banner displaying the name of the animal rights group Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

The Crufts organisers, the Kennel Club, said they could not yet confirm if it was some kind of protest. They said they are "looking into the incident".
