A woman who came to the UK as a child with the Windrush generation says her life has been a living hell after she was let go from her 36-year job because she couldn't prove she was a British citizen.
Gloria Fletcher from Erdington in Birmingham was dismissed after her employer ruled her an illegal immigrant.
Like many other Windrush citizens, she had the right the remain but not the documents to prove it.
Gloria is one of thousands of people who arrived from the Commonwealth half a century ago who fear deportation after changes to immigration laws, because they were never formally registered.
The Home Office has now apologised and has said it is putting together a task force to help those affected get the right documentation.
Gloria says the stress has been unbearable.
