Thousands of people gathered in Leicester today to celebrate the annual Vaisakhi procession.
The parade started at the Guru Nanak Gudwara and continued through the city streets.
The colourful festival is an important one to the Sikh community, as it celebrates the initiation ceremony of the Khalsa Brotherhood, first taking place in 1699.
The festival is founded on principles of respect, equality and challenging injustice.
