Police in Nottingham increase patrols after series of stabbings

Police in Nottingham are increasing patrols in the city after a series of stabbings over the weekend.

A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the leg in the Radford area on Friday night. On Saturday afternoon, a 17-year-old boy and a 29-year-old man were stabbed in the Arnold area. The incidents are not thought to be linked and their injuries are not life-threatening.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm over the stabbing of the 29-year-old.

Police are appealing for anybody who has any information about the incidents to get in touch.

Extra patrols have been put in place and we have a team of dedicated detectives to the investigations.

We do not believe there's any risk or threat to the wider public following these incidents.

We've arrested one man overnight and we will continue our investigations to catch the other outstanding offender.

On Friday morning, 17-year-old Ross Hedley was rushed to hospital after being stabbed on Mansfield Road. His parents released pictures of him in his hospital bed in a bid to warn teenagers against carrying knives.
