Man blinded after liquid attack in the street

Police have released CCTV images of three men after liquid was thrown at a man in Leicester Credit: Leicestershire Police

A man has lost the sight in one eye after liquid was thrown in his face on a Leicester street.

Police have released CCTV images of three men they wish to identify and question following the incident which left the victim with significant injuries.

The 20-year-old is recovering well and police say he may regain the sight in his damaged eye.

The incident occurred on Jarrom Street on Saturday May 19 at around 9.30am.

The man was approached and liquid thrown in his face in the street at Jarrom Court.

He was discharged from hospital after a few days but is still undergoing treatment as an outpatient.

A spokesperson for the force said the the liquid is not believed to be acid-based but further tests are being carried out.

Detective Constable Chris Fox is investigating the incident. He said the public could help to "move the investigation forward" if they recognised any of the men in the images.
