Man denies betting shop murder on grounds of insanity

A man charged with murdering a man at a betting shop in January has pleaded not guilty.

Hassan Mustafa appeared at Birmingham Crown Court this morning and denied the charge on the grounds of insanity.

Officers were called to Paddy Power on Rookery Road in Birmingham on January 4 2018.

The victim, 28-year-old Khalid Yousef, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hassan Mustafa, who is 35, entered his plea via video-link during a five-minute hearing. He will stand trial later this year.
