East Midlands Trains services between Leicester and Loughborough are currently delayed by up to 40 minutes due to a signalling fault.
The fault at Sileby - between Leicester and Loughborough - has been repaired but is still disrupting trains on the London St Pancras - Nottingham - Sheffield and the Leicester - Nottingham - Lincoln routes.
A spokesperson for East Midlands Trains said: "We are now working to rebuild our advertised timetable. We expect delays and cancellations to continue until 2pm."
Passengers are being advised to use alternative routes.
East Midlands Trains tickets will be accepted by other operators using the following alternative routes:
- Sheffield - London Kings Cross via Doncaster
- Derby - London Euston via Birmingham
- Nottingham - London Kings Cross via Grantham
- Leicester - London Euston via Birmingham
