Aston Villa's Stiliyan Petrov said he is lucky to be alive as he continues his brave battle with leukaemia.
The 33-year-old also paid tribute to his family and supporters.
The club's captain was diagnosed with the disease in March 2012 and has undergone intensive bouts of chemotherapy treatment.
Last September, a 400 mile bike ride was completed in aid of Stiliyan Petrov.
Petrov is now in remission and is positive about "getting back to my life".
400 mile bike ride completed for Petrov
by ITV CentralTwo masseurs who set off on a 400 mile bike ride from Celtic Park to Aston Villa in aid of player Stilyan Petrov, who as diagnosed with Leukaemia earlier this year, arrived in Birmingham this afternoon.
Pedal for Petrov saw Alex Butler and Andrew Smith – two colleagues and friends of Stiliyan, cycle up to 80 miles a day over five days to complete their bike ride.
The two cyclists were joined by Premier League players and other campaigners, including journalist and political aide, Alistair Campbell.

Petrov, who was diagnosed with acute Leukemia in March was also given another birthday surprise as Villa's new manager Paul Lambert, confirmed that the 33 year old would remain as club captain.
It all proved quite emotional for the fan's favourite as he was presented with a Birthday Cake and team-mates sang Happy Birthday.
It has also been announced that Villa masseurs Andy Smith and Alex Butler are cycling from Celtic Park to Villa Park in September to raise funds for Leukaemia research, calling their event what else but Pedal for Petrov!

Fifa President Sepp Blatter today joined those who have sent messages of support to the Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov. The 32 year old Bulgarian international has started his treatment for acute leukaemia.
On Saturday fans held a minutes applause for the Bulgarian international during the 19th minute. It was timed to match the player's squad number.
