Police are investigating the murder of 19-year-old Malakai McKenzie from Nottingham. He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre with serious injuries during the early hours of Saturday, he died later that day.
Two bailed in Malakai McKenzie murder investigation
Two people arrested in connection with the murder of Malakai McKenzie have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
A 20-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, both arrested on Thursday 31 May, were released from custody today.
A total of 13 people have now been arrested during the investigation into the murder of 19-year-old Mr McKenzie, who died after being shot outside The Hubb public house in Sherwood on Saturday 21 April.
Detectives are following up new information in the hunt for the killer of 19-year-old Malakai McKenzie.
The teenager from Nottingham was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre by members of the public on Saturday afternoon with serious injuries. He died later that day.
A Home Office post-mortem examination said he died from a gunshot wound.
Warrants were carried out at two addresses in Nottingham yesterday, but no arrests have been made.
Detectives believe Mr McKenzie’s death is linked to reports of a firearm being discharged outside the Hubb, in Hucknall Road around 3.30am on Saturday morning.
Officers have been looking through CCTV footage and believe the killers left the scene in a car which drove up Hucknall Road.

The car park of the pub is still cordoned off.
Police want to talk to people who were at a party at the pub.
