An adventurer from Staffordshire has spent 15 months travelling the world in a black cab. Leigh Purnell and two friends clocked up over forty thousand pounds and raised 20 thousand pounds for the Red Cross.

Record breaker explains how taxi challenge came about
"After a couple of beers and a night out we were looking at this taxi fare and thought they were the most expensive taxi fares ever. We looked it up and it turned out there's a world record and we went and did that.
We named the taxi Hannah after the Ella Fitzgerald song 'hard hard Hannah' because she's a gal who likes to see men suffer and she's certainly done that for us."
