Police have been given more time to question two people arrested in connection with an injured baby girl who was discovered by bins in a Wolverhampton tower block.

Police were called to a flat on Boscobel Crescent at 6.30pm on Saturday evening (8th September) following reports a child was missing.

Two people are being questioned by police after a baby was found near bins on a Wolverhampton housing estate.

Police say a 24-year-old woman has been detained in police custody on suspicion of attempted murder, and a 32-year-old man is being questioned on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Two people have been arrested after a baby was found in a refuse collection area on a Wolverhampton estate.

Police were called to a flat on Boscobel Crescent in the city on Saturday evening (8th September) following a report of a missing child.

The very young baby was found later and was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital to be treated for her injuries. She is still in a critical condition.
