A protest, which began outside the Bullring Shopping Centre in Birmingham, has ended this afternoon without any arrests.

It was held by local residents who oppose the amateur video 'Innocence of Islam,' which has led to unrest in many countries around the world.

Police patrolled the area with shops and businesses remaining open throughout.

Today's protest follows a demonstration that was held in Birmingham city centre on Friday.


Bullring locks doors as 100 people protest

The Bullring has locked its doors as a precaution as 100 people protest outside.

Police are monitoring the demonstration, for which people have been gathering since 3.00pm today.

"As a precautionary measure Bullring has locked its external doors after consultation with the police due to a protest currently taking place on Rotunda Square. As always our primary concern is the welfare of our shoppers and retailers."
