Nottingham Forest fans will have the chance to honour the memory of the Club’s late owner Nigel Doughty today.

A Memorial Service is due to take place at Westminster Cathedral in London this afternoon.

Mr Doughty, who owned The Reds for 12 years and was Club Chairman for a decade, passed away in February this year, aged 54.

Nigel Doughty's widow tells of joy at renaming of Notts Forest Academy

The Nottingham Forest Academy was officially renamed the Nigel Doughty Academy earlier today, in honour of the late owner.

Mr Doughty, who died at a gym in his Lincolnshire home saved the club from administration when he bought it in 1999. His widow Lucy said:

"He wanted so badly to give Nottingham such an academy for the youngsters of tomorrow, for tomorrow's footballers. He belived so much in the preparation as a footballer and it brings us great joy."
