Man in court over Walsall stabbing

A man has appeared in court charged with the murders of a man and woman who were found stabbed to death at a block of flats in the West Midlands.

Ian Woolley, who's 43 and from Walsall, appeared before Sandwell Magistrates' Court.

He is accused of murdering 69-year-old Pauline Gillen and a man who has yet to be formally identified. They were found dead with multiple stab wounds at the weekend. Woolley was remanded in custody.

Police have released a picture of the woman who was one of two stabbed in a block of flats in Walsall.

A man will appear in court later charged with two counts of murder following the discovery of two bodies at a block of flats in Walsall at the weekend.

The 43-year-old was arrested on Saturday after the victims were found on the Yew Tree Estate.

A post-mortem examination revealed they had been stabbed to death.
