Leicestershire Police have issued this statement following the death of its Assistant Chief Constable Gordon Fraser.

"British Transport Police is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and will prepare a file for the coroner. The death is currently being treated as non-suspicious."

An Assistant Chief Constable of Leicestershire Police has been found dead on a railway line.
Gordon Fraser was hit by a train shortly after midday on Friday October 19, in Aston Magna, Moreton-in-the-Marsh, Gloucestershire.
Mr Fraser had been suspended from duty since December 2010 pending an investigation into his conduct by Merseryside Police.
He'd also been due to appear in court on Monday October 22 in connection with a separate allegation of perverting the course of justice by Hertfordshire Police.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
