Education officials in Nottinghamshire are seeking to take over the running of a village primary school which suspended its headteacher after a special investigation by ITV Central.
It follows an inspection last month by the watchdog Ofsted, which put Burton Joyce Primary School into "special measures".
Governors at Burton Joyce Primary School suspended the headteacher Margaret Gretton last November.
The decision came 24 hours after ITV News Central broadcast a report highlighting serious allegations about the running of the school.

The move came 24 hours after a special report by Central Tonight into serious allegations about the running of Burton Joyce Primary School.
Headteacher Margaret Gretton has been suspended while Nottinghamshire County Council carries out its inquiries. The chair of governors also resigned at last night's meeting.
An acting headteacher has been brought in from another primary school.
Today, the local MP, Vernon Coaker, said he now hoped the local authority investigation could be concluded as quickly as possible.

It's after the board of Governors at the school took the decision to suspend Margaret Gretton at a meeting last night.
It follows a Central News special investigation into allegations over the running of the school.

It follows a number of complaints about the running of Burton Joyce Primary School from parents, teachers and governors.
Most of the concerns are about the school's plans to become an academy, but among the allegations are accusations of bullying of staff and intimidation of parents by the headteacher Margaret Gretton.
We've been told about alleged malicious behaviour towards individuals who've challenged the school.
The school has put in a bid to become an academy, but the Government has put the application on hold while the Nottinghamshire County Council carries out its own investigation.
Tomorrow the governing body is holding a special meeting to discuss the crisis.
