The man was crossing the road outside the Leopard Pub on Sedgley Road in Dudley shortly after 11 o'clock on Saturday night.
He was hit by the vehicle which was travelling from Dudley towards Sedgley.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward, or if they have noticed a vehicle with any front end damage.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Collision Investigation Unit in Perry Barr on the 101 number.
