Daniel Jones, aged 23 months, was pronounced dead at a house in the Penn area of the city after paramedics were called there on Tuesday 29th May.
A 33-year-old woman and 29-year-old man were remanded in custody at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court charged with the manslaughter and of causing or allowing the death of the child.
Detectives investigating the death of a toddler in Wolverhampton have charged two people with manslaughter and causing or allowing the death of a child.
A 29-year-old man and 33-year-old woman are due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court this morning.
Police arrested the pair yesterday following an investigation into the death of the 23-month-old baby.
He was pronounced dead when paramedics were called to a house in the Penn area of Wolverhampton on 29th May.
His death was initially treated as unexplained however the results of extensive forensic tests showed he died as a result of a heroin overdose.
