Northampton town signs former Sky Blues striker

Northampton Town have signed former Coventry City striker Roy O'Donovan on a contract to the end of the season.

O'Donovan joined Coventry on a three-year-deal from Sunderland in June 2010.

The 27-year-old, who is a former Sky Blues trainee, established himself in the League of Ireland with Cork City, where he scored 31 goals from 74 league appearances.

New Villa signing is thrilled to be part of an 'exciting' team

Yacouba Sylla has said he is thrilled to be part of the 'dynamic and exciting young team' at Aston Villa.

The Villa midfield completed a move from French club Clermont Foot this afternoon.

The 22-year-old has featured for the France Under-21 team and attracted interest from other Premier League clubs before the Villa manager secured his transfer on deadline day.

Butland to join England Squad against Brazil

Birmingham goalkeeper Jack Butland has been called up to the England squad to face Brazil on February 6th.

He became England's youngest ever goalkeeper when he made his debut against Italy last year aged 19 years and 158 days.

There is speculation that Butland is in talks with Stoke City over a £4m deadline day move, but he would be loaned back to Birmingham for the rest of the season.
