Matt Tite, Detective Chief Inspector, believes the car jacking, which saw a mother pulled out from behind the wheel with her children still in the backseats, was an isolated, random incident.
Police are appealing for information after a car was stolen from a young mum in Birmingham with her two children strapped in the back seats.
The 23-year old was in Pintail Drive, Erdington, at 5.45pm on Wednesday (January 30), when two men, described as black, pulled her out from behind the wheel and drove off.
Her two children – aged five-years old and 18-months old – were driven for around half a mile before being dropped off by the thieves at the roadside in Mere Road.
The children were found unhurt by a passer-by and quickly reunited with their mother.
