A lantern lighting ceremony in memory of a 2-year-old boy from Worcestershire who recently lost his fight with leukaemia is taking place this evening.

Charlie Harris-Beard died at the weekend. His family are trying to raise awareness about umbilical cord donation after a stem-cell transplant helped prolong his life.

Charlie's funeral was in Kidderminster yesterday.**

Tonight's lantern lighting will start at 8:00pm at the Lickey Hills off Monument Lane.

The family of a two-year-old boy from Kidderminster, who died from leukaemia last weekend, will be holding a special ceremony in his memory today.

Hundreds of people will be lighting candles to commemorate Charlie Harris-Beard.

His family want to raise awareness of umblical cord donation, after a transplant helped prolong his life.

His funeral took place at St Mary's Church in Kidderminster yesterday.
