The school behind a six-week long consultation will become an academy in May this year, despite protests to keep it a city council school.

The Department for Education has confirmed Sinfin Community College will be converted into an Academy, despite strikes and protests from teachers.
The Department for Education said more than half of the respondents to the consultation agreed that the school should become an Academy.
The Secretary of State also took the long history of underperformance at Sinfin Community School into account.
