Five teenage boys arrested in connection with the death of a man in Nottinghamshire on Saturday night have been released without further action.

A 16-year-old boy remains in police custody. 40 year old Glen Kitchens died of a head injury following an assault on Bridge Street in Worksop.

Two more teenagers arrested over Worksop death

Officers investigating the death of 40-year-old Glen Kitchens in Worksop have made two further arrests. Two boys aged 15 and 14 have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Three 15-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy were arrested at the weekend. In total six teenagers are in police custody.

A post-mortem examination has concluded that Mr Kitchens died from head trauma.

Worksop victim named

Police have named the 40-year-old man who died following an assault in Worksop town centre on Saturday evening.

Glen Kitchens was from the Sunnyside area of the town. He was pronounced dead at Bassetlaw District Hospital.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place to confirm the cause of death.

Four teenage boys, three aged 15 and one aged 16, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and will remain in custody overnight.

A murder inquiry is now underway after reports of an assault at 7:30pm last night on Bridge Street in Worksop.

Three of those arrested are 15 years old. The victim has not yet been formally identified and a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

It follows reports of an assault at around 7.30pm in Bridge Street, near its junction with Central Avenue and Ryton Street.

The victim was taken to Bassetlaw District Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A murder inquiry is now underway.
