A police investigation is under way after a man was seriously injured having been hit by a car in West Bromwich last night which failed to stop at the scene.

Police appeal for witnesses following hit and run

Police are hoping to speak with anybody who may have information regarding a hit and run in West Bromwich yesterday.

The incident happened in Black Lake at around 9:45pm. A man was crossing Hill Top when he was hit. The driver failed to stop at the scene.

To assist, I would ask that anyone who was in the area at the time the man was struck by the car to call us immediately.

I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who spots a car with front end damage and a broken windscreen.

Man seriously injured after hit and run in West Bromwich

A police investigation is under way after a man was seriously injured having been hit by a car in West Bromwich last night, which failed to stop at the scene.

Initial enquiries suggest that a local man, believed to be in his 40s, was crossing Hill Top when he was hit by a car.

The vehicle failed to stop at the scene and a large-scale policing operation is now under way to find the driver responsible.

A 25-year-old West Bromwich man was arrested at 9am this morning from his home on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision. He remains in police custody while officers continue to appeal for witnesses.
