Donington crash tragedy

A man has died at Donington Park in Leicestershire following a car crash on the race circuit. Christian Devereux, from Chiswick in London, died when his 1965 Mini Cooper was involved in an accident at the Donington Historic Festival.

Donington Park releases statement following death of driver

Donington Park has released a statement this morning following the death of Christian Devereux, who crashed his Mini Cooper on the circuit at the Donington Historic Festival yesterday.

It is with great regret that the directors of Donington Park Racing Limited, operators of Donington Park Circuit, have to report that, following an accident in a race for historic touring cars, the driver of car number 67 (a 1965 Mini Cooper S), Christian Devereux of Chiswick in London, succumbed to the injuries sustained at approximately 4:30pm.

The organising race club HSCC, and Donington Park Racing Limited, together with the circuit’s medical and emergency services, will now be co-operating with both Leicestershire Police and motorsport’s governing body, the Motor Sports Association, in order to determine the cause of this tragic accident.

Driver dies in classic car race at Donington park

A man has died after taking part in a classic car race today at Donington park in Leicestershire.

Christian Devereux who was from Chiswick in London died from his injuries after his 1965 Mini Cooper S was involved in an accident during a race for historic touring cars.

A statement on the Donington Park website, said the organising race club, HSCC and Donington Park Racing Limited, together with the circuit's medical and emergency services, would be co-operating with Leicestershire police and the Motor Sports Association to determine the cause of the accident.

The race was part of Donington's historic festival which has attracted visitors from across the country.
