Dancing on Ice announcement

Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have announced that the 2014 series of Dancing on Ice will be the last.

Torvill and Dean on leaving ice show: 'It's not a sad time'

Torvill and Dean, the ice dancing champions who started their career as teenagers at Nottingham Ice Rink, told ITV News's Alison Mackenzie the next series of Dancing on Ice will be their last and it will bring an end to the show's tours as well.

It will mark nine years of the award-winning programme and 30 years since they scored 12 perfect sixes with their Bolero routine at the Sarajevo Olympics.

They said that it is the end of an era but not the end of Torvill and Dean.
