An MP is calling on the government to take urgent action, after a severe crash on the M6.

Three lorries and a car were involved in a collision on the southbound side of the motorway at Catthorpe Interchange, causing major delays.

The Department for Transport have said in the past that improvements will be made to the junction.

Mark Pawsey, MP for Rugby, said today's crash showed that the plans needed to be brought forward:

"The fact there has been a further major accident today, causing traffic to divert through the town and causing extended journey times for many businesses in my constituency means that improvements should be carried out sooner rather than later.

"Problems at the Catthorpe junction have existed for far too long. In addition to delays, there has been significant loss of life and a remedy is urgently needed."
