A woman has died and a man has been left with life-threatening injuries after a crash in Erdington in Birmingham.

Police are appealing for more information after a crash in Erdington in Birmingham in which a woman died.

Officers were called out to a collision at Gravelly Hill involving a transit van and a car at around 1:30am this morning.

Four passengers in the car, one man and three women, were taken to hospital, where an 18-year-old woman was pronounced dead just after 3am.

The man remains in a life threatening condition.

A 19-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

West Midlands Ambulance service have confirmed a woman has died and a man has been seriously injured in a crash in Birmingham.

Six people were involved in the collision at 1.20am on Gravelly Hill in Erdington. A car and van had crashed close to the A38 Aston Expressway.

Police say the driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
