Derbyshire charity thief guilty

Liverpool businessman Harris Polak has today been found guilty at Liverpool Crown Court for stealing at least £213,000 from two charities, including one in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

Cancer charity fraudster jailed for stealing £200,000

A fraudster who stole more than £200,000 from charities – including Cancer Relief UK in Chesterfield – has been jailed.

Harris Polak, from Liverpool, has admitted fraudulently duping two cancer charities and a cerebral palsy charity out of at least £213,000 whilst fundraising for them.

The 54-year-old has been sentenced to 45 months in prison.

The harm to public confidence by this offence is immense. The giving to public causes will suffer because of this.
