Almost 950 people have complained to Trading Standards in Nottinghamshire about rogue traders, in the last year. New rights mean people who have been mis-sold something now have 90 days to claim a refund or price reduction.

Council: new rules good news for rogue trader victims

Elderly and disabled people are often targeted by doorstep criminals so these new rights will make it easier for them to get their money back if they have been a victim of a scam.

It is good news that they will also be able to claim compensation for any distress caused.

Almost 950 people have complained to Trading Standards in Nottinghamshire about rogue traders, in the last year.

This figure comes after new rules have been implemented meaning people who have been mis-sold something now have 90 days to claim a refund or price reduction.

Many people complained because a sales person had mis-sold a product, or felt they had been pressured into making a purchase.
