Taylor praises opening of new facilities

Former England and Aston Villa manager, Graham Taylor OBE, has praised the opening of new sports facilities in his local area of Sutton Coldfield.

The newly-refurbished Rectory Park Pavilion and football pitches will be opened later today by Dion Dublin.

It is smashing to see the changing rooms at the Rectory Park Pavilion get a much-needed makeover.

It is a popular local sports venue so the upgraded pavilion, and the improved grass pitches, will make a major difference to the teams that play there.

Dublin 'delighted' to be opening new Birmingham facilities

Former England and Aston Villa striker, Dion Dublin, is 'delighted' to be opening a revamped Rectory Park Pavilion and football pitches in Birmingham today.

Football is our national game so it is only right that the players and volunteers at the grassroots should have somewhere comfortable to get changed and shower before and after matches.

I am delighted to see this facility has benefited from investment from the Football Foundation's funding partners - the Premier League, The FA and the Government. When I played for Villa it was not too far from here, so it's particularly nice to see this site receiving this major boost.
