A 17 year old boy charged with murdering a college student in Birmingham will appear at the city's Youth Court later.

Azim Azam who was 16, was on his way to his first day at college when he was found collapsed in the street after getting off a bus in Moseley on Monday.

The accused teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is from Kings Heath.

The family of Azim Azam, who was stabbed on his way to college in Moseley yesterday morning, have paid tribute to him.

Azim was a lovely young lad who was full of life. He was a bubbly character and all family and friends who knew him were aware of his friendly nature. He was looking forward to going to college to embark on a new chapter of his life.

17-year-old arrested after stabbing

West Midlands Police have arrested a 17-year-old from Yardley Wood after a college student was stabbed to death in Birmingham.

A 16-year-old, named locally as Azim Azam, was attacked on a bus in Moseley on his way to college yesterday morning.

He died from a single stab wound.
