Taxi crash victim thanks "life-savers"

A fashion student from Leicester who was critically injured when a taxi crashed into her in New York has thanked passers-by who saved her.

People on the streets of Manhattan ran to save 23-year-old Sian Green who was on a trip with her best friend.

Now out of hospital, five weeks after having her leg amputated, Miss Green appeared on the Today show.

Leicester student speaks following taxi crash

A student from Leicester who was seriously injured after being hit by a taxi in New York has given her first television interview just five weeks after her leg was amputated.

23-year-old Sian Green was taken to hospital in critical condition after being hit by a taxi which had mounted the pavement trying to avoid a cyclist in Manhattan.

Sian thanked passers by who helped to save her life and says she still remembers what happened.
