A float for a Sikh faith school has taken part in the Leicester parade to celebrate the birthday of Sikh founder Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Surinder Pal Singh Rai, the General Secretary of Guru Teg Bahadur Gurdwara says children from the school were singing holy hymns on the float.
Thousands have followed a parade in Leicester for Nagar Kirtan, the celebration of the birthday of Sikh founder, Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The event included a march with a number of floats, through the city.

The following roads will be closed throughout the day as tens of thousands of people parade through Leicester to mark the birth of the founder of the Sikh faith, Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
There will be a rolling programme of road closures starting from 11:30am, along the route which is:
- East Park Road
- St Peter’s Road
- Sparkenhoe Street
- Swain Street
- Charles Street
- Northampton Street
- Granby Street
- Gallowtree Gate
- East Gates
- High Street
- St Nicholas Place
- Vaughan Way
- Great Central Street
The parade will end at around 3pm.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to parade through the streets in Leicester this lunchtime to celebrate the birth of the founder of the Sikh faith.
Nagar Kirtan is a religious procession to mark the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. A number of rolling road closures will take place from 11:00am and throughout the afternoon as the parade passes through the city.
