A woman has been found guilty of handling stolen car badges from Coventry Transport Museum and of stealing badges from cars in the local area.
49-year-old Maxine-Ann Sokil attempted to sell the badges on an Internet auctioning site when a museum employee identified some as stolen property.
Police found over 700 badges in a search on Sokil’s flat in Coventry. The defendant had claimed she acquired the badges from car boot sales and scrap yards.
Sokil was sentenced to a 12 month community requirement. Two requirements include a supervision order and 10 week curfew between 9pm and 7am.
