A post mortem examination is due to take place today following the death of a five-month-old baby in Nottingham.

Police were called to a house in Clementine Drive, Carlton, at around 6.30pm on Monday.

The five-month-old baby boy was taken to Queen's Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have launched an investigation.

The death is being treated as "unexplained".

An investigation has been launched after the death of a baby in Nottingham.

Police were called to a house in Clementine Drive, Carlton, at around 6.30pm yesterday and the five-month-old baby boy was taken to Queen's Medical Centre.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A police statement said they were investigating the circumstances of the child's death alongside the coroner, and said they were treating it as "unexplained" at this stage.

A post mortem will take place tomorrow.
