Donations towards the funeral costs of a pregnant woman and her unborn son killed when they were hit by a car in Leicester have almost reached £4,000.

The GoFundMe page was set up in honour of Paige Jackson after she died in Saffron Lane on Saturday.

Organisers had hoped to raise £3,000. A statement on the page said all money left over will go to charity.

More than £3000 has been donated to help pay for the funeral of a 22-year-old pregnant woman and her unborn child, who died when they were hit by a car in Leicester.

Paige Jackson was walking along Saffron Lane on Saturday morning when she was hit and a fundraising campaign was launched to pay for the funeral.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and released on bail.

Almost £2,500 has been donated to help pay for the funeral of a pregnant 22-year-old killed when she was hit by a car in Leicester.

A man has been arrested in connection with a crash in Leicester in which a 22-year-old woman died.

Paige Jackson was walking near the leisure centre on Saffron Lane when she was hit by a car on Saturday morning.

A 21-year-old man was questioned by police and has been released on bail.

Woman dies in Leicester collision - man arrested

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman in a fatal road traffic collision in Leicester.

The 21-year-old male was released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The incident happened at around 6.50am on Saturday, February 15 in Saffron Lane and involved a pedestrian and a black Volkswagen Jetta saloon.

The pedestrian, 22-year-old Paige Jackson, was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary where she subsequently died.

Woman who died in fatal Leicester collision named

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit have named the woman who died in a fatal road traffic collision on Saturday, February 15.

The incident happened at around 6.50am in Saffron Lane and involved a pedestrian and a black Volkswagen Jetta saloon.

The pedestrian, 22-year-old Paige Jackson, was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary where she subsequently died.

The driver of the car was taken to the same hospital where he received treatment.

This incident happened near to the junction with Knighton Lane East, close to the leisure centre. The car was travelling county bound having driven out of the city centre.
