Authorities: Nothing we could do to save Baby Jamie

Child services bosses have said there was nothing they could have done to save an eight-week-old baby boy from being killed by his parents.

Jamie Kightley died in 2012 after suffering more than 40 broken bones and a serious head injury. His parents, Jacqueline Parker and Adam Kightley, were jailed for seven years for causing or allowing his death.

Chairman of the Children's Safeguarding Board in Northampton, Kevin Crompton, told ITV News that despite some areas of improvement identified in a review, authorities do not believe it would have saved Jamie's life.
