Man found dead in Leicestershire was father-of-two

A man found dead at a house in Leicestershire has today been named as father-of-two Christopher Penman.

Mr Penman, aged 58, was found at a house in Somerfield Walk, Beaumont Leys, on Saturday afternoon. The house remains sealed off today while forensic investigations continue.

His two children have released a statement through police appealing for information.

Our Dad didn’t deserve to die, he was a good man. We would ask anyone who has any information about what happened to please contact police.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Detectives have been granted extra time to question him.

Investigations are in its very early stages and we are currently trying to establish what has happened.

The body was found at a house on Somerfield Walk in Beaumont Leys.

The property remains cordoned and forensics are working at the scene. Searches are also being carried out by officers in the surrounding area.
