Another man has been arrested after a shooting in Derby. Police have revealed the incident was the latest in a series of escalating offences, for which eight others have already been arrested.

A man has been arrested today on suspicion of firearms offences as part of an ongoing investigation into a shooting earlier this month.

The 22-year-old was arrested as police raided a home in Upper Dale Road in Normanton, Derby, today.

Officers closed off sections of Upper Dale Road and Pear Tree Road at around 8am while a series of raids were carried out in both streets.

It comes as part of a criminal damage investigation, when it's believed shots were fired at a house in Walbrook Road on March 12.

Shots being fired at a house in Derby was the latest in a series of escalating incidents across the city, police revealed today.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the shooting, which happened in Walbrook Road, Normanton, yesterday morning.

It comes after five others were arrested over the weekend in connection with a string of other offences.

A spokeswoman for Derbyshire Police today told ITV News Central that there had been a series of incidents over the past few days which culminated in yesterday's shooting.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at around 4pm yesterday on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Five hours later, two men - aged 21 and 25 - were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.

All three remain in custody this morning.

Police in Derby are reassuring members of the public after an incident in the city this morning was confirmed as a shooting.

Officers have confirmed that a firearm was used to cause damage to two premises on Walbrook Road and Brunswick Street.

No one was injured in the incident that happened in the early hours.

Derbyshire Police are investigating criminal damage at a house in the Walbrook Road and Brunswick Street areas of Derby.

Officers were called at 4:40am this morning after calls from local residents.

One line of enquiry is that shots may have been fired at the properties but the investigation is at an early stage.

No-one has been injured.
