Mark Selby dedicates world title win to late father

Leicester's Mark Selby has dedicated his snooker world title win to his late father, who died just two months before he turned professional aged 16.

The Jester from Leicester clinched his first world championship last night, beating Ronnie O'Sullivan 18-14 in the final. With the win, he rises to the top of the world rankings.

My father died of cancer when I was 16, two months before turning professional, and his last words to me were, 'I want you to be world champion'. That's for him.

There's no better feeling. Whether you win it once or more than once, no-one can take it away from me.

It's amazing really. I'm over the moon.
