2014/15 opening day fixtures for League One and Two

The 2014/15 season fixtures have been announced for both League One and League Two. The pick of the ties sees Chesterfield travel to Leyton Orient, who were both promoted last year, and Port Vale host near rivals Walsall.

League One opening day - 9 August 2014:

  • Bradford City v Coventry City
  • Leyton Orient v Chesterfield
  • Port Vale v Walsall
  • Preston North End v Notts County
  • Rochdale v Peterborough United

In League Two, beaten play-off finalists Burton Albion take on newly promoted Oxford, and Northampton Town are at home to Mansfield.

League Two opening day - 9 August 2014:

  • Wimbledon v Shrewsbury Town
  • Bury v Cheltenham Town
  • Northampton Town v Mansfield Town
  • Oxford United v Burton Albion

Villa start season with away clash at Stoke

Aston Villa will begin the 2014-15 season with an away fixture at Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday 18th August.

The first game of the season at Villa Park will be against Newcastle United the following weekend.

The derby days against West Brom are at The Hawthorns on Saturday 13th December and at home on Tuesday 3rd March. The final game of the season will be at home to Burnley on 24th May. See full list of Villa fixtures here.


Leicester City host Everton in first Premier League game

Leicester City will host Everton at the King Power Stadium to start their Premier League campaign on August 16th.

The fixtures lists for next season have been released this morning.

The Foxes also will face Chelsea and Arsenal before the end of August.
