West Midlands Police's gun surrender campaign has now seen more than 40 weapons handed in to police stations across the region.
It was launched earlier this month as the maximum sentence for gun possession changed to life in prison.
West Midlands police say those supplying guns to criminals are just as guilty as the ones pulling the trigger.
It comes as they launch their gun surrender campaign with the hope it will get more guns off the streets.
