Nottinghamshire Police insist plans are in place to save £8.2 million over the next two years.

The Police inspectorate, HMIC, has told the force it must press ahead with its saving plans.

Inspectors found the force needs to overhaul the way it operates and cut staff to meet its savings target.

In a statement Nottinghamshire Police said it is "confident robust plans are in place to protect the Force's financial future." It said a plan had now been agreed and "it will start to be implemented in the coming months."
