Family tributes to Northampton teenager

The family of a teenager from Northampton who went missing on Monday afternoon and was found dead, have released a statement paying tribute to his character.

A body of missing 15-year-old Emmerson Thompson, was found in Northampton on Monday afternoon. He was reported missing from his home in Stimpson Avenue, off the Wellingborough Road.

"Not a bad bone in his body" Tributes to teenager

The family of a teenager from Northampton who was found dead have released a statement.

The body of 15 year old Emmerson Thompson was found by a member of the public at Weston Mill on Monday afternoon.

Emmerson would have been sixteen in a few weeks and his family were organising a special event for is birthday. He attended Weston Favell Academy, recently completed his GCSEs and had enrolled in the sixth form. He was a very studious and conscientious pupil. He had a passion for wildlife and kept a number of exotic pets. He was a keen swimmer and an accomplished guitar player. He enjoyed the countryside and walking holidays in places such as the Lake District. One of Emmerson’s closest friends described him as kind and caring with not a bad bone in his body. He was well liked by all those that knew him. Emmerson’s family greatly appreciate all the support and messages of sympathy that they have received during this difficult time. He will be dearly missed by his loving family.”

Police find body in search for missing Northampton boy

A body, believed to be that of missing teenager Emmerson Thompson, has been found in Northampton this afternoon. The 15-year-old was last seen on Friday 1 August.

Members of the public found the body at Weston Mill, shortly after 2pm.

DCI Mark Behan, said:

Our thoughts are with Emmerson’s family at this devastating time.

I would like to thank the public for their help in the search for Emmerson, particularly those people who shared our appeal on social media sites.

A report will now be prepared for the coroner.

Missing 15-year-old reportedly spotted in Birmingham

A 15-year-old boy from Northampton who has been missing for more than 48 hours has reportedly been spotted in Birmingham.

Emmerson Thompson was reported missing on Friday afternoon from his home in Stimpson Avenue, off the Wellingborough Road.

30 police officers are concentrating their search around a small area near his home.

There has also been an unconfirmed sighting of Emmerson in Wales.
