Ticket details announced ahead of Coventry's return to Ricoh

Tickets for Coventry City's return home match at the Ricoh Arena will go on sale at 9:30am on Friday.

The Sky Blues take on Gillingham on Friday September 5.

A deal was signed last week to allow Coventry City to return to the Ricoh Arena after secret talks were held between lawyers acting on behalf of Sisu, the club's owners, and ACL, who manage the Ricoh Arena.

The football club has been playing its home games at Sixfields Stadium in Northampton for more than a year.

Current and former Coventry City players have tweeted about their pleasure in hearing of the 'great news' that the club are to return to the Ricoh Arena.

One fan at the Ricoh Arena today also tweeted that manager Steven Pressley has been at the ground for interviews, following the announcement.

The Dean of Coventry has released a statement following the news that Coventry City FC will return to the Ricoh arena.

The Very Reverend John Witcombe says he's delighted to have played a part in bringing the different parties in dispute together.

A Coventry City official has spoken of his delight at a new deal which will allow the club to return to the Ricoh Arena.

"We are delighted to get this deal done and I am sure every supporter of Coventry City will be thrilled with this news.

“We are under no illusion what a difficult 12 months it has been for the supporters and that was uppermost in our thinking as we worked to get this deal done.

“There has had to be compromise on both sides and the commercial details of the deal will remain confidential."

A statement released by Coventry City FC says fans should be able to see a home game at the Ricoh Arena on September 6.

A deal was signed between club owners Sisu and Ricoh Arena managers ACL allowing the team to return to their home turf. Coventry City has been playing in Northampton for over a year.

The two-year deal - with an option for an extra two years - should see the Sky Blues play at the Ricoh Arena for the first time in the league against Gillingham.
