Ken Clarke will stand for election again

The longest-serving British MP and Conservative Remain supporter Ken Clarke is to stand again for his Rushcliffe constituency at the June 8 General Election, his office has said.

Mr Clarke holds the honourary role of 'Father of the House of Commons', bestowed on the senior MP with the longest period of unbroken service. He has been an MP since the 1970 general election.

Young people urged to 'use your vote' ahead of snap election

People aged between 18-24 across the Midlands are being urged to make sure their voices are heard after the Prime Minister called a snap general election for the 8th of June.

Venandah Madanhi is an ex member of the Youth Parliament for the Midlands and founded the 'Signpost Birmingham' campaign (aimed at empowering young people).

She says if young people do not turn out to vote, the major political parties will ignore them...
